When do you decorate the outside for Halloween!

When is it to early to start decorating for Halloween. I love Halloween and I can't wait till September because that is when I start to decorate my house for Halloween. I know some of you might think that is just a little to early. But Halloween to me is like Christmas to some of you. It brings me such joy. I think it's because I love when it starts to get cold outside, the leaves falling off the trees, winter clothes, the colors, trick or treat and many many more things that the holiday season has to offer.

I thought I would share with you all what I put outside in my front yard. This is something I made about 10 years ago. I still like it just as much now as I did back then. I try to add to it each year. But I have to control myself. This year I am wanting to add a smoke machine. I think it would be perfect. My favorite part of this is when the Halloween cut outs cast shadows on the house. You can see it from way down the end of the street.

It is good to have a fellow Halloween fanatic, although I usually start decorating inside first. It is so much fun to decorate for Halloween, although I love Christmas just as much. I start in early November for Christmas. Usually the Halloween comes down for a week or so and the Christmas goodies make their way out! I can't wait to see more Halloween decor pictures! Take care, Robert

Hi Robert! Thanks for the visit. I have been seeing your face out in about in my little circle of blog land. It's nice that you stopped over for a visit. I like to decorated really early for Halloween. I don't have a ton of decorations. I wish I had more of my things that I make. But I sell just about everything that I make. I try to buy things. But this year hasn't been that successful in the purchasing end. Hopefully they will still get some more shipments in. But the sad part is I don't think so. I am starting to see Halloween pushed aside and here comes Christmas.

I'm with you, I try to hold myself back until at least September and then I get started, inside at first, and keep adding decorations until all the way up to the end of Halloween. Unless you count my Halloween arbor over my front walkway which stays up all year long. This last weekend I started "haunting" the few shops we have trying to find the first Halloween decorations for sale. On my way back from out of the area I stopped in some larger shops - craft stores are always first to fill their shelves and found a few goodies.

I start on the inside on Sept. 1st if I can. I like to have it all done so I can enjoy it for 2 full months. We decorate the yard on Oct. 1st so we can drum up Halloween enthusiasm from the neighborhood for the whole month, culminating in the big festivities on Hallowe'en Eve! Only true Halloween Heads understand this behavior I might add! ;o)
